Ladies let's fall in love with our selves in honor of Valentines Month!

WHO: Beginner Ladies ages 18 to 100, it will be mostly feminine moves.  The moves are low impact on the knees with not a lot of jumping and no moves crawling on the floor.


LEVEL:

  • Total Beginners - No experience needed 
  • If you're more interested in masculine or unisex moves then join the coed class.  Click here to for info on that class.
  • If you are really uncomfortable with movement and don't feel ready for a group class then try a private lesson.  Text (301) 641-6055  for private lesson info.  Private lessons are $150 for a 1 hour and 15 minutes lesson.

ABOUT THE CLASS:

  • Learn beginner level feminine hip hop moves
  • The last 15 minutes of class we will take optional photos and videos.  If you don't want to partake in that you can leave early if you like.
  • The class is low impact on the knees with little to no jumping and no crawling on the floor type of dance moves. 

WHY THIS CLASS?

  • Optional Videos and photos taken of the students at the end of each class to track our progress
  • 1 hour and 30 minute class (rather than the typical 1 hour dance class)
  • This is one of the few Hip Hop Classes in the area that has a small 10 student limit and is catered to TRUE Beginners
  • Some students say dance class is more helpful than their weekly therapy.
  • Get a workout, learn a new skill, AND make new friends IN PERSON!
  • NOTE: This class is held once or twice a month and not every month.  Don't miss out and regret it later.  You only live once!

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:
Your class instructor Amina is the owner of District Groove.  Amina has 18 years of hip hop dance teaching experience and has performed and taught dance on Cruise Ships as well as at large Corporate Events.  Her Adult Hip Hop Classes have been featured in The Washington Post as well as several Local News Channels. She specializes in Adult Beginner Hip Hop Classes, Birthday Party Dance Classes, as well as Team Building Hip Hop Classes for Corporate Events. 

Amina loves sharing dance with her local commuity and she loves to help build confidence in her students.  Her class is a safe space for students to make mistakes, have fun, make friends, and encourage each other.

REFUND POLICY:  Non-refundable and no make-ups - BUT if you attend class and don't like it you can text (301) 641-6055 within 24 hours of attending your first class and request a refund.
 

 

STUDIO RULES:

● Anyone who is distruptive in class or smells of marajuana of any kind of drugs or alcohal will be asked to leave.
● No perfumes as it gives the instructor and some students allergies
● No kids or friends or pets allowed to come watch 
● No alcohal or drugs before class. Even tipsy students are hard to teach!
● Students are not allowed to use gym equipment in the classroom before, during or after class. 
● Shoes should be sneakers that don't mark the floor. Shoes with less tread at the bottom will be easier to dance in. No high heels, flip flops or sandals.
